Alleged abuse and irregular demolition of a villa in Juan Adrián, Bonao reported
A couple residing in the Monseñor Nouel province, identified as Nelson Batista Ángeles and his wife, Guillermina De Jesús Ureña, have raised their voices against what they describe as an abuse of power by the authorities of the National Environmental Protection Service (SEMPA). According to the complaint, their facilities were demolished without legal justification in the community of Juan Adrián.
Those affected maintain that they had all the necessary legal permits for the construction of their villa. Among the documentation presented, land use certifications, authorizations for controlled tree felling, and the duly legalized deed of sale proving ownership of the land stand out. Despite having presented these documents to the corresponding authorities, they claim they were ignored during the intervention process.
Third-party interests behind the eviction
The complaining couple suggests that behind this action there is a background of private interests. According to their statements, influential figures had pressured for the demolition with the goal of enabling an access route to personal projects they own in adjacent areas.
The owners pointed directly to Osiris de la Cruz and Henry Álvarez as those responsible for using political influence to orchestrate this forced eviction and the subsequent destruction of their private property.
Authorities’ intervention demanded
Faced with the loss of an investment amounting to millions of pesos and years of personal effort, Batista Ángeles and De Jesús Ureña have formally requested the intervention of the country’s highest authorities:
- Public Ministry.
- General Directorate of SEMPA.
- Ministry of Environment.
- Presidency of the Republic.
The objective of this call is to initiate an exhaustive investigation into the case, to determine responsibilities, and to proceed with compensating for the damages caused by what they consider an arbitrary act that violates their right to private property.
