Gianni Infantino arrives in the Dominican Republic to boost the development of football
The president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, arrived this Friday in Dominican territory on a strategic visit aimed at strengthening national soccer. The top leader of world soccer was received at the Punta Cana Airport by the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, together with a delegation of sports authorities from the country.
During the meeting at the airport terminal, Infantino was accompanied by the president of the Dominican Football Federation, the president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Luisín Mejía, and the national football commissioner, who coordinated the key points of his agenda in the nation.
Dialogue with President Luis Abinader
One of the highlights of the day was the telephone conversation that Infantino held with the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, who extended a warm welcome to the FIFA executive. The Dominican leader reaffirmed the State’s interest in strengthening ties with the international organization and collaborating on initiatives that benefit sports growth.
