Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, arrives in the Dominican Republic for Caribbean summit
The president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, landed on Dominican soil this Friday. His visit’s main objective is to participate in the meetings scheduled by the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), an event that brings together the highest authorities of regional soccer in Punta Cana.
Upon his arrival, the head of world football was welcomed by the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, who highlighted the positive impact that hosting figures of such international relevance has for the nation.
A recognition of the country’s sports growth
The presence of Infantino, accompanied by that of Concacaf president, Víctor Montagliani, is seen by local authorities as a boost to the organizational capacity of the Dominican Republic and its constant evolution in the sports field.
