Regional 15 of the Ministry of Education awards excellence in environmental projects and school gardens
Regional Directorate 15 of the Ministry of Education held a special recognition ceremony to highlight the work of principals, pedagogical coordinators, and teachers who have successfully led environmental education initiatives and the creation of school gardens in their respective educational centers.
The event, coordinated by Deivis Sosa and Victoria Zapata, sought to highlight the positive impact that these practices have on students’ academic development, promoting not only practical learning, but also a deep awareness regarding environmental protection and the care of natural resources.
Environmental education as a pillar of sustainable development
Eddy Chávez Placencio, director of Regional 15, was in charge of leading the ceremony. During his speech, he emphasized that the integration of these projects into the school curriculum is fundamental to fostering sustainability values in new generations.
When we bring environmental education to our schools, we are not just planting seeds; we are sowing awareness, responsibility, and values in our students. Each school garden represents an opportunity to learn by doing and to build a culture of caring for our environment.
