Gabriel Pagán celebrates his second Latin Grammy 2026 nomination
Renowned Dominican artist Gabriel Pagán is celebrating after receiving his second Latin Grammy nomination, this time in the prestigious “Best Merengue/Bachata Album” category. The recognition comes thanks to his recent record production titled “No era el plan,” a project that has managed to stand out in the Latin music industry.
In an exclusive conversation with Alofoke Deportes, the performer expressed the excitement this new milestone in his career brings him, recalling that his first foray into these awards took place in 2017 with his album “Contra Corriente,” when he competed in the Best Contemporary Tropical Album category.
A project born from passion
For Pagán, this nomination has a particular meaning due to the organic nature of the album. According to the artist, the album’s title, “No era el plan” (It wasn’t the plan), precisely reflects how this musical proposal emerged, which had the support and talent of prominent figures in the tropical genre.
I receive this blessing in a very special way. It is an album where I have the privilege of featuring collaborations from great masters and colleagues such as Ilegales, Vladimir Dotel, Nelson Zapata from Proyecto Uno, Eddy Herrera, and Manny Cruz.

The interpreter of “A tan solo una hora” emphasized that his creative process is not focused on obtaining awards, but on authenticity. He assured that his greatest satisfaction lies in creating music from love and passion, allowing the public and the industry to value the effort behind each melody.
Agenda full of projects
Beyond the joy of the nomination, Gabriel Pagán already has his sights set on the future. The artist shared that, during the months of October and November, he will be developing a university tour that will travel through various points of the Dominican Republic. Likewise, he announced that he is preparing new performances together with other colleagues in the musical field, which will be revealed soon.
