El Millón starts with a victory against Bameso in the 50th District Superior Basketball Tournament
The El Millón club started its participation in the 50th Superior Basketball Tournament (TBS Distrito 2026) on the right foot, after defeating Bameso with a score of 79-74 in an exciting match held at the Arena BanReservas Profesor Virgilio Travieso Soto.
This prestigious event, which celebrates its “Golden Anniversary,” is dedicated to the company Seaboard “Clean Energy” and features the competition for the BanReservas Cup. Under the technical direction of Abraham Disla, the team known as “El Yireh” showed a renewed and competitive side in their debut, managing to prevail against a Bameso team that, under the command of Julio Duquela, records its first defeat of the tournament.
Offensive leaders of the match
- El Millón: Import player Kerry Richardson led the attack with 22 points and seven rebounds, followed by Jesse Zarzuela with 18 points. Enmanuel Martínez contributed 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, while Andrés Fulgencio added 10 units.
- Bameso: Juan Guerrero stood out with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Andersson García also achieved a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while the import Jordan Davis added 10 points to the Bameso cause.
El Millón took the lead in the first half of the game with a score of 40-38, thanks to a solid performance in the first quarter where they managed to establish an initial nine-point lead.
Organization details
The tournament is organized by the National District Basketball Association (Abadina), presided over by Edwin Castillo. The organizing committee is headed by the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista, with Nelson Ramírez serving as the tournament commissioner.
