Presidency clarifies incident with journalists at the National Palace during CNM meeting
The Press Office of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic recently spoke out to clarify the events that occurred at the Government headquarters, where several journalists were removed while covering the session of the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM). According to the authorities, the incident was the result of a misunderstanding and not a deliberate policy to limit access to information.
Carlos Alberto Caminero, Press Director of the Presidency, detailed that he maintained a direct dialogue with the affected communicators to clarify the event. According to the official, the security personnel had no intention of obstructing journalistic work, even though the departure of the communication professionals was interpreted by some as a restrictive measure.

During the exchange, the journalists themselves noted that the treatment received from the agents was courteous, although the escort to the exit generated various interpretations. Caminero emphasized that the Government maintains a collaborative relationship with the media and rejects any intention of generating conflicts with the journalistic guild.
