Tragedy in Greece: Newlywed couple dies in helicopter crash during their honeymoon

A painful tragedy has shaken the tranquility of the island of Sifnos, in Greece, after the death of a newlywed British couple and their pilot was confirmed. The tragic event occurred last Tuesday, when the private Bell 206 helicopter in which they were traveling crashed to the ground moments before completing its landing.

The victims were identified as Alexander Cromie and Marie Ebert, who were in the Cyclades archipelago enjoying their honeymoon. The aircraft had taken off from Markopoulo bound for Sifnos, a destination that stands out for being a serene alternative to more crowded tourist centers like Mykonos or Santorini.

Ongoing investigation into possible technical failure

Local authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to clarify the exact causes of the incident. According to statements from local residents, an unusual noise was heard coming from the engine moments before the impact, which has led authorities to consider a technical failure as the primary hypothesis.

So much happiness has turned into sadness. The local community is devastated by the magnitude of this accident.
