Investigation into the murder of a community leader in Los Alcarrizos
The National Police have initiated an exhaustive investigation process following the tragic death of José Frank Valerio, 52, who lost his life last Friday, August 14, after being shot in the Hato Nuevo sector, Los Alcarrizos municipality.
The incident, which has shocked the community, occurred while the victim was at a motorcycle taxi stand. According to preliminary reports, two individuals on a motorcycle intercepted Valerio and shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

The Santo Domingo Oeste Homicide Investigation Division, in close coordination with the Public Ministry, has collected five 9-millimeter caliber casings at the scene of the incident. This evidence is already being analyzed by forensic experts from the Scientific Police as a fundamental part of the process to identify those responsible.
The investigations are at an early stage and it is premature to establish the motive for the crime. We are working intensely on the analysis of security cameras and interviews with potential witnesses to clarify this unfortunate event.
