Dominicanos Primero intensifies its political path towards 2028 with massive support in the interior
The political movement Dominicanos Primero, led by businessman and communicator Santiago Matías, maintains a steady pace in its process of consolidation as a political party with a view toward the 2028 general elections. Over the past weekend, the organization carried out a series of strategic affiliation and signature collection drives in the provinces of Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez.
The meetings, held in the municipalities of Las Terrenas and Sánchez, had a large citizen participation. As detailed by Pablo Sainz, president of the organization, the objectives set for this phase were successfully met, highlighting that in Las Terrenas the signature goal was reached in just one hour of work, reflecting the interest that the project arouses in the population.
A vision of state reform
One of the fundamental pillars supporting the Dominicanos Primero proposal is the restructuring of the state apparatus. The movement has presented a concrete plan that seeks the elimination of 18 ministries, councils, and public institutes, with the primary objective of optimizing government spending.
The organization maintains that an oversized state structure does not guarantee better services, and proposes that the reduction of institutions is the necessary path to mitigate public debt and allow, in the long term, a decrease in the tax burden on Dominicans.

In addition to fiscal efficiency, the movement has been emphatic in pointing out that the excessive growth of the state structure fosters clientelist practices that affect the transparency and equitable development of the country.

Santiago Matías, who leads this initiative as part of his vision for the country for 2028, has managed to mobilize a sector of the citizenry that is seeking new alternatives in the national political spectrum. During the events in the northeast zone, various citizens expressed their support for the communicator, voicing their desire to see him as a presidential option in the upcoming elections.
