Blow to drug trafficking: DNCD seizes more than 4,700 grams of illicit substances in Pedro Brand
In a high-impact tactical deployment, agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), in coordination with the Public Ministry and supported by the Joint Task Force (FTC), executed a series of strategic operations in the municipality of Pedro Brand and surrounding areas. The action resulted in the capture of five individuals linked to the micro-trafficking network and the seizure of a significant quantity of controlled substances.
Operational details and seized evidence
The intervention covered a total of 85 operations and six simultaneous raids, managing to dismantle 12 critical distribution points. During the searches, the authorities managed to seize a shipment exceeding 4,700 grams of narcotics, which were detailed as follows:
- Cocaine: 732 portions with an approximate weight of 3,291 grams.
- Marijuana: 100 wrappers totaling nearly 1,100 grams.
- Crack: 356 doses of rocky material.
In addition to the drugs, the agents seized four scales used for weighing the substances, a communication radio, and RD$2,060 in cash, items that will serve as fundamental evidence in the judicial process against those detained.
These actions are part of the comprehensive citizen security strategy to dismantle micro-trafficking networks operating in the most vulnerable sectors of the country, thus guaranteeing peace and order in our communities.

The operation extended across various strategic sectors, including Los Barrancones, Savica, El Tamarindo, Las Flores, La Guáyiga, Los Americanos, La Unión, Pueblo Nuevo, El Chucho, La Piña, Los Humildes, Pantoja, El Paraíso, Los Cocos, and Los Lebrones.
The five detainees are now in the custody of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes. For its part, the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) received the seized substances for the rigorous analyses that will certify their exact weight and chemical composition. The DNCD reaffirmed that these types of interventions will continue to be carried out constantly throughout the national territory to curb the advance of drug trafficking.
