San Francisco will host the 2028 MLB All-Star Game
The San Francisco Giants organization has confirmed news that excites baseball fans: Oracle Park will be the official venue for the Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game in the year 2028. This event, known as the Midsummer Classic, will return to the Bay City to consolidate its legacy in the history of professional sports.
The selection of San Francisco marks the fourth time the city has hosted this grand event. Previously, the city served as host in 1961 and 1984 at the old Candlestick Park, as well as the 2007 edition, which took place at the current home of the Giants. The 2028 schedule will encompass the entire All-Star Week, including the exciting Home Run Derby, the Futures Game, and the celebration of the MLB Draft.
With its passionate fan base, a world-class stadium and a rich history in baseball, San Francisco will be an exceptional host for All-Star Week.

The 2007 edition at Oracle Park left indelible marks on the fans’ memories. That year, Ichiro Suzuki made history by hitting the first inside-the-park home run in the event’s history, taking home the Most Valuable Player award. Likewise, the event stood out for being Barry Bonds’ fourteenth and final appearance in the classic, in addition to paying an emotional tribute to legend Willie Mays and witnessing Vladimir Guerrero Sr.’s victory in the Home Run Derby.
