Tragic event in Santiago: 24-year-old young man is shot to death in Baracoa sector

A violent episode shook the tranquility of the Baracoa sector, in Santiago de los Caballeros, this Friday afternoon. A 24-year-old man, identified as Amaury Saviñón, lost his life after being shot by individuals traveling on a motorcycle.

The incident occurred specifically on García Copey street. According to preliminary reports, the attackers surprised the victim on the public road and, after firing their weapons multiple times, fled in an unknown direction.

The modus operandi of the attack has led authorities to consider, preliminarily, the possibility of a contract killing. However, both the National Police and the Public Ministry are keeping the case under investigation to clarify the motive for the crime and identify those responsible for this attack.
