Dominicans First: Santiago Matías’ movement reaches significant milestones on its path toward political recognition
The political project Dominicanos Primero, led by businessman and communicator Santiago Matías, continues to consolidate its structure nationwide. According to the progress map shared by the platform, several provinces have managed to exceed the established support recruitment goals, marking a firm step in their aspirations ahead of the upcoming electoral processes.
Sustained growth in the national territory
Current indicators reflect significant dynamism in citizen recruitment. Santiago leads the list with outstanding performance, reaching 268% of its goal, which represents nearly 20,000 registrations against an initial target of 7,400. This momentum is also reflected in other key districts:
- Monseñor Nouel: 256 %
- La Altagracia: 225 %
- La Vega: 207 %
- Monte Cristi: 205 %
- María Trinidad Sánchez: 200 %
Likewise, provinces such as Barahona, Samaná, San Pedro de Macorís, Peravia, La Romana, San Juan, Duarte, Santiago Rodríguez, Espaillat, Independencia, Santo Domingo, Dajabón, Azua, Puerto Plata, and San José de Ocoa have exceeded the 100% threshold in their objectives. On the other hand, demarcations such as Elías Piña, Sánchez Ramírez, San Cristóbal, Bahoruco, Monte Plata, and Hato Mayor maintain active efforts to reach the projected goals.
It is essential to specify that these metrics are part of the organization’s internal tracking and do not represent, under any circumstances, an official validation by the Central Electoral Board (JCE).
Towards the 2028 electoral consolidation
Dominicanos Primero is immersed in an organizational process with the clear objective of obtaining recognition as a political party. Since the official announcement of the registration application filing with the JCE made in August, the platform has been working on the presentation of its party symbols and the structure necessary to comply with current legal standards.
The project defines itself as a citizen party, with its sights set on the 2028 elections. Through its official platform, interested parties can check the movement’s progress in each municipality and province, maintaining transparency at every stage of the process.
It should be remembered that, for Dominicanos Primero to be formally recognized, it must strictly comply with the requirements of Dominican electoral legislation and pass the verification and audit phase by the competent electoral body.
