Kerkez close to joining Liverpool: A deal almost closed

The transfer of Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez to Liverpool seems imminent, according to statements from his father, Sebastijan Kerkez. The agreement between Liverpool and the Hungarian international would be valued at around 45 million euros ($51.99 million), and the player has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League club. Liverpool is looking to reinforce its defense, especially at left-back. They have already signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen to compete on the right flank.

Milos Kerkez could join the Premier League champion after his outstanding performances at Bournemouth last season.

It’s only Liverpool for us and we’re not going to go anywhere else and we won’t talk to other clubs. Everything is done between us [personal terms], we just need to sort out a few details, but basically it’s a done deal.

Sebastijan Kerkez, in the Super Indirektno podcast, added that Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes, was the one who took his son to Bournemouth, and that the decision to go to Liverpool is completely made. In addition to reinforcing the flanks, Liverpool recently finalized a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz in a deal that could rise to £116 million.

Liverpool had two bids rejected by Leverkusen, who initially wanted £126 million for Wirtz, before accepting an initial deal of £100 million, plus bonuses of up to £16 million.
