Lando Norris Claims Pole Position in the Miami Grand Prix Sprint

British driver Lando Norris, behind the wheel of a McLaren, has secured pole position for the sprint race of the Miami Grand Prix, corresponding to the fourth date of the Formula 1 world championship. Norris demonstrated his team’s good form by setting the best time in the sprint qualifying, stopping the clock at 1:27.069. He beat Italian Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), who currently leads the championship, by 222 thousandths of a second. Oscar Piastri, also from McLaren, will start from third position, completing an outstanding day for the British team. The second row of the grid will be composed of Piastri and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari). Max Verstappen (Red Bull) will start from fifth position. The sprint, scheduled for 19 laps, will award points to the top eight finishers. On the grid will also be the Argentinian Franco Colapinto, who will start from eighth position, alongside Lewis Hamilton. Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso, both Spanish, will start the race from 15th and the last position, respectively. Mexican Sergio Pérez will start from 19th. The competition arrives in Miami after a mandatory break due to the suspension of races in the Middle East. During this time, the FIA implemented modifications to the technical regulations to balance the use of electrical energy and optimize safety on the track. With this result, McLaren demonstrates a remarkable recovery after a season start with ups and downs, positioning itself as a team to be reckoned with in this crucial weekend in the United States.
