Moca Heroes Defeat Santo Domingo Lions in the LNB Super League
Santo Domingo – Los Héroes de Moca demonstrated their superiority on the court by defeating the Leones de Santo Domingo with a score of 102-85 in an exciting Super Liga LNB match, held at the San Carlos club’s sports complex.
The Moca team built their triumph on a solid defense that forced 23 turnovers by the Leones, 18 of which occurred in the first half. This factor proved crucial in securing their second victory of the season (2-3), while the Leones suffered their fourth defeat (1-4).
John Clark Jr. led the Heroes’ offense with an outstanding performance, accumulating 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Caleb Huffman also had a significant participation, contributing 18 points. Jayson Valdez was another key player, providing eight points, 10 assists, and six steals.
For the Leones, Reggie Quezada scored 17 points, despite losing eight balls, and Gerardo Suero added 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Heroes set the pace of the game from the first quarter, extending their lead in the second period and coming to dominate by up to 20 points before halftime. Their intense defensive pressure resulted in multiple steals and baskets in transition.
Although the Lions tried to react in the third quarter, reducing the difference to 12 points, the mocanos maintained control of the game and secured the victory without major setbacks in the final stretch.
In other matches of the day, the Cañeros del Este will face the Marineros de Puerto Plata, and the Titanes del Sur will face the Soles del Este in San Cristóbal.
