Marta Returns to the Brazilian National Team to Face the United States

The iconic Marta, six-time winner of the Best Player in the World award, returns to the Brazilian national team for the friendly matches in June against the United States. The announcement was made this Wednesday by coach Arthur Elias, marking a milestone in the team’s preparation. The matches will take place on June 6 at the Neo Química Arena in São Paulo and on June 9 at the Castelão stadium in Fortaleza.

Arthur Elias Faces the United States with Experience

Coach Arthur Elias has revealed that this call-up is close to the group he envisions for the World Cup that Brazil will host in 2027, although he emphasized that the selection “remains open” and the final decisions will depend on the performance of each player. I want to repeat more names, but they must also show in their clubs that they deserve to be here. Among the new features, the return of Marta, currently at the American Orlando Pride, stands out. Arthur Elias highlighted Marta’s invaluable experience on the field, crucial for facing the current Olympic champions.

It’s a pride.

Expanding the Observation of Female Talent

In addition to the list for the friendlies, the coach presented a second squad with 30 players for a training period in the metropolitan region of São Paulo between June 15 and 20, with the aim of expanding the observation of talent. Among those called up for the friendlies, in addition to Marta, stand out forwards who play in international clubs such as Kerolin (Manchester City), Ary Borges (Angel City), Rafaelle (Orlando Pride) and Yaya (PSG).
