The two minors who suffered serious injuries during an incident on an amusement ride at the patron saint festivities in Hato Mayor del Rey are showing signs of improvement. The medical team at the healthcare center detailed the current condition of the sisters following the incident that occurred on the attraction called “Estrellitas,” from which one of the cars detached while the minors were on board:
- The 13-year-old adolescent presents with a mild traumatic brain injury. She is currently admitted to the intermediate care unit, where she is being closely monitored by the Neurosurgery team.
- The younger sister, 11 years old, suffered a more complex traumatic brain injury. Due to the severity of the injury, she underwent emergency surgery during the early morning hours by specialists in Neurosurgery and Surgery.
The patients remain under medical supervision and are progressing favorably following the care received.
