Santiago Matías defends his participation in the Political Communication Congress after incident
The businessman and key communication figure, Santiago Matías, referred to the recent verbal exchange he had with communicator Julieta Tejada during the Political Communication Congress. Matías, who leads the political project “Dominicanos Primero,” downplayed the criticisms and defined the event as a democratic exercise typical of an open debate environment.
During an appearance on the program Politikal, the political aspirant clarified that his participation in said event was the only one, among the 40 exhibitors present, that was conducted in an interactive format. As he explained, the decision to open the microphone to the public responded to his conviction of transparency, ensuring that his team does not fear questioning from the citizenry.
Matías’s perspective on the origin of the tension
The friction point, according to Matías’ account, arose when Julieta Tejada took the floor. The businessman questioned the participant for omitting her initial political affiliation when introducing herself, identifying only as a communicator, only to later reveal her militancy in the Fuerza del Pueblo party.
If she identifies herself to me as a communicator and not as a member of the Fuerza del Pueblo, today would be a different scenario.
