Escalation of attacks between Russia and Ukraine leaves damage to critical infrastructure
An intense day of missile and drone attacks has shaken various regions of Ukraine and Russia, leaving a toll of victims, fires, and significant material damage. In Kyiv, one of the most concerning incidents occurred when a Russian ballistic missile struck in the vicinity of a children’s hospital in the Shevchenkivski district. Fortunately, thanks to the fact that medical staff and patients were sheltered, no injuries or fatalities were reported at the hospital center, although the facilities suffered damage to their infrastructure and a gas pipeline.
Simultaneously, other areas of the Ukrainian capital were targeted by attacks that caused a large-scale fire in a warehouse, affecting an area of 1,200 square meters. Although the fire has already been brought under control, authorities confirmed at least one person injured at this location.
Critical situation in Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv
- Zaporizhzhia: The region faced a combined drone and missile offensive that resulted in the deaths of five people. The attack caused fires, structural damage to various buildings, and power supply outages.
- Mykolaiv: A drone attack struck a private home, an apartment building, and an industrial facility. A 75-year-old woman received medical attention after suffering an acute stress reaction.

For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the execution of a massive attack with high-precision weapons against logistics centers and military industry companies in Kiev and Zaporizhzhia. Moscow justified the offensive by pointing out that its targets were infrastructures used for the storage and distribution of components intended for the production of drones, robotic systems, and electronic warfare technology.

Ukraine responds on Russian territory
The conflict also moved to Russian territory, where Ukraine launched a nighttime offensive against warehouses of the logistics company Wildberries and a refinery in the Voronezh and Orenburg regions. In Voronezh, the impact of debris from downed drones caused the death of a 49-year-old man and left two other people hospitalized.
According to local reports, Russian air defenses managed to intercept 15 Ukrainian drones, although the falling debris was enough to severely damage the mentioned logistics facilities, maintaining tension in the border area.
