Deputy Rosendy Polanco justifies the change in the leadership of the National Police
Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) deputy, Rosendy Polanco, spoke out regarding the recent replacement of retired Major General Andrés Modesto Cruz Cruz as head of the National Police. The legislator supported the Executive Branch’s decision, noting that certain actions during the former director’s tenure may have been decisive in proceeding with the change of command.
Polanco emphasized that Cruz Cruz’s departure should not be analyzed through the lens of his personal integrity, but rather as a necessary response to the performance evaluations conducted by the Government. When asked about the brief six-month period he was in office, the congressman was emphatic in pointing out that an official’s tenure depends directly on their results and the assessment of the authority who appointed them.
Questioning the outgoing administration
One of the critical points highlighted by the deputy was an episode that occurred in Navarrete, where the then-police director appeared carrying a weapon on his belt. According to Polanco, these types of actions are inappropriate for an officer of his rank and negatively expose the Government that appointed him.

The replacement of Cruz Cruz by the new director, Major General Ernesto Rafael Rodríguez García, is part of the State’s efforts to deepen the comprehensive reform and transformation of the law enforcement institution.
