Road safety education plan promoted in Samaná schools

With the goal of fostering a culture of prevention and civic responsibility while commuting, press officer Estarlyn Carela and the mayor of the Las Galeras Municipal District, Ana Reyes, held a strategic meeting with General Pascual Cruz, Director General of DIGESSETT. The meeting focused on establishing concrete measures to improve road safety in the province.

One of the key points discussed was the implementation of road safety education programs in educational centers belonging to District 14-04 of Samaná. This initiative seeks to instruct children and young people on respect for traffic signs, responsible behavior on the streets, and accident prevention from an early age.

Strategic actions for security in Las Galeras

During the session, Mayor Ana Reyes presented various proposals aimed at optimizing traffic management in her district. The official underscored the need for constant support from traffic authorities to execute actions that guarantee safer mobility, both for local residents and for the visitors the area receives.

Education and prevention must be the pillars of any road safety strategy, especially when we focus our efforts on training future generations within the classrooms.

Estarlyn Carela, press officer

This inter-institutional collaboration seeks to strengthen the ties between municipal authorities, the education sector, and traffic agencies. The fundamental premise is that road safety is a shared responsibility, so effective coordination between these entities is essential to reduce accident rates and improve the quality of life in the Samaná community.
