Communicator Ramón Tolentino visited the home of Emmanuel Contreras’ family in the Los Praditos sector, following the confirmation of the young man’s death, who had remained in critical condition after being brutally beaten in the head in an incident recorded in Santo Domingo. During the meeting, Tolentino expressed his solidarity with the relatives and reiterated the urgency of obtaining clear answers from the authorities.
Criticism of the authorities’ management
Tolentino expressed his indignation at the lack of speed in the investigative process. The communicator questioned why the suspects were not apprehended immediately after the attack, further denouncing that one of the main individuals involved had allegedly managed to leave the country for the United States while the victim was fighting for their life in a health center.

The incident originated from a commercial transaction agreed upon through Facebook Marketplace. According to reports, Emmanuel went to the cited location to buy a cell phone, where he was the victim of a scam that escalated into violence. The attackers struck him heavily on the head using blunt objects, such as bats, causing him irreversible injuries.
Call for justice
Emmanuel’s family has exhausted various avenues, including demonstrations in front of the Ciudad Nueva Palace of Justice, seeking to ensure the crime does not go unpunished. Tolentino also requested an investigation into whether there was complicity from third parties that facilitated the escape of those responsible. Currently, the circle of the deceased young man expects the Public Prosecutor’s Office to identify and bring to justice all those involved in this unfortunate event.
