A recent survey conducted by the firm Sondeos has highlighted the expectations and perceptions of the citizenry regarding the current administration of President Luis Abinader. The study details which priority issues the population still considers as pending tasks, as well as the progress that is already recognized by a significant portion of those consulted.
Pending issues on the government agenda
According to the data collected, public safety is positioned as the most urgent challenge for Dominicans. 41% of those surveyed pointed to the fight against crime as the main commitment that requires the most attention for the remainder of the administration.

- Improvement in the quality of public services: 16%.
- Optimization of electrical service: 16%.
- Support for the agricultural sector through technology and financing: 7%.
Commitments perceived as fulfilled
On the positive side of the scale, the citizenry identified several areas where they consider the government has achieved concrete progress. Maintaining the investment of 4% of the Gross Domestic Product for the education sector leads this list with 23% of mentions.
The consolidation of the tourism sector, a fundamental engine for the national economy, was pointed out by 22% of the participants as one of the pillars achieved during the current term.
Other notable achievements mentioned by respondents include:
- Low-cost housing programs: 16%.
- Development and construction of aqueducts: 14%.
- Decisive actions against administrative corruption: 12%.
- General economic stability: 7%.
- National and international scholarship programs: 6%.
This measurement reflects a balanced view of the presidential administration, where citizen demands for greater security and relief in the cost of living coexist with the recognition of public policies that have positively impacted key sectors of national development.
