Blow to crime: DICRIM captures two alleged robbers in the capital
In a strategic operation, the National Police, through the Central Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), managed to dismantle two alleged members of a dangerous criminal gang that was keeping various sectors of the National District and West Santo Domingo in distress. The detainees are linked to multiple armed robberies recently recorded in these areas.
The detainees were identified as Brayan José García Rodríguez, nicknamed “Brayan”, and Víctor Junior Rodríguez. According to the official report, both individuals admitted their participation in the criminal acts during preliminary interrogations. Likewise, the subjects pointed out a third accomplice, identified only as “Morenito”, who is currently being actively sought by law enforcement.
Evidence seized during the operation
The capture was carried out after an exhaustive follow-up supported by the analysis of video surveillance cameras, which allowed for the identification and location of the Honda CR-V SUV that the group used to travel and commit their misdeeds. During the arrest operation, the authorities managed to confiscate various items that link those involved to their illicit activities:
- A Glock 19 pistol, generation 5, equipped with a high-capacity magazine.
- Seven mobile devices.
- The sum of RD$133,000 in cash.

In addition to the weapons and money, investigators managed to voluntarily recover two pieces of yellow gold jewelry, which will be returned to their rightful owners once the corresponding legal protocol is fulfilled. The detainees have been placed in the custody of the Public Prosecutor’s Office to answer to the charges brought against them.
