Promoting leadership and values in the youth of Boca Chica with a summer camp
With the goal of fostering peaceful coexistence and positive leadership, the Ministry of Interior and Police, together with DP World Dominican Republic and the organization Entrena, successfully held the summer camp titled “Fun with Values: Empathy, Respect, and Peace.” The event was aimed at more than 100 children and adolescents from Boca Chica, aged between 7 and 14 years old.
The program focused on the development of socio-emotional skills, providing participants with key tools for conflict resolution and the building of interpersonal bonds based on mutual respect. This initiative is part of a comprehensive prevention strategy that seeks to strengthen the social fabric from an early age.
Commitment to community development
The Vice Minister of Preventive Security in Vulnerable Sectors, Chandrai Estévez, highlighted the relevance of these types of alliances for citizen security. “We welcome DP World’s commitment to Boca Chica and we trust that this camp will mark the relaunch of a permanent working relationship between both institutions, aimed at generating greater opportunities for our children and youth,” the official pointed out.
The camp was supported by DP World’s “Future Vision” program, a platform that has been operating in the area since 2021 and has positively impacted more than 7,000 young people with an investment exceeding 48.9 million Dominican pesos.

Excellence-based training
During the three weeks that the camp lasted, the participants worked under the “8 Keys of Excellence” methodology, addressing fundamental pillars for their personal growth:
- Empathy and respect.
- Individual and collective responsibility.
- Positive communication.
- Peaceful conflict resolution.
Through didactic materials and pedagogical dynamics, the young people learned to apply these tools in their daily environments, whether family, school, or community-based. This intervention reaffirms the commitment of the authorities and the private sector to social prevention, acting on risk factors before they turn into situations of vulnerability or violence.
