Omar Wright responds to accusations regarding land dispute and defends his ownership

The legal conflict over the possession of some land has escalated following the recent statements by Francis Mateo Soriano. In response, Omar Wright has come forward to deny the accusations against him, asserting that he is the legitimate owner of the disputed lands, supported by documentation issued by the State Sugar Council (CEA).

Wright maintains that the litigation has spanned a period of five years, during which time he has sought to resolve the situation strictly through judicial channels. According to his version, the current occupants have been summoned multiple times to court to present evidence proving their alleged ownership, a requirement that, he asserts, has not been met by the other party.

Details regarding the judicial process and the order of default

Regarding the default order weighing on the case, Wright clarified that this measure was issued following the repeated failures of the occupants to appear before the court. The owner emphasized that the magistrate in charge of the process granted various opportunities to present legal documentation, but these were squandered by the defendants by failing to appear at the scheduled hearings.

Similarly, Wright categorically denied having been notified of a hearing that, according to Soriano’s family, he did not attend. On the contrary, he reaffirmed his commitment to the judicial process, insisting that he has complied with every summons, while the opposing party has evaded appearances.

It is justice that is going to speak. I trust that the legal process will determine who has the real rights to the property, based on evidence and documents, not on public statements.

Regarding the health condition of Francis Mateo Soriano, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, Wright indicated that it will be the court’s responsibility to evaluate the medical reports presented and determine the appropriate actions under the current legal framework.

Finally, Wright warned that his legal team is evaluating the possibility of filing a lawsuit for defamation and slander. The goal is to protect his reputation against the accusations of illicit actions that have been publicly disseminated, reiterating that his only intention is for the conflict to be resolved in court and not through social media.
