Elderly person reported missing in San Cristóbal found safe and sound
The National Police, through its Department of Search for Missing Persons attached to DICRIM, reported the successful finding of Mr. Leonel Alfonso Lambertus Read, 75 years old, who had been missing for several hours.
The case, which generated great concern among his loved ones because the citizen suffers from Alzheimer’s, concluded satisfactorily on the night of last Wednesday, August 11, in the Madre Vieja sector, located in the province of San Cristóbal.
Citizen collaboration was key
The success of this operation is largely attributed to the civic-mindedness of a citizen who, upon noticing a disoriented person matching the description in the report, decided to contact the septuagenarian’s relatives immediately. After receiving the notice, law enforcement officers deployed an investigation team to ensure the safety of the senior citizen.
The National Police highlighted the importance of citizen collaboration in these types of cases, while reaffirming its commitment to keeping search and investigation efforts active until the location of the reported missing persons is achieved.
