The Mexican women’s national volleyball team concluded its performance at the 2026 Norceca Continental Championship with a resounding 3-0 victory over Costa Rica. The match, held at the Ricardo Gioriver Arias Volleyball Palace, was decided with set scores of 25-19, 25-7, and 25-15.
With this result, the Mexican team finishes the tournament phase with a positive record of two wins and two losses. Conversely, the Costa Rican team closes its participation without a single victory, accumulating a 0-4 record in the competition.
Absolute dominance on the court
The Mexican sextet showed marked superiority throughout the match, reflected in the official match statistics. Mexico widely outperformed its rival in the fundamental aspects of the game:

Offensive leadership
The winners’ offense was led by Aime Margarita Topete, who accumulated 13 points, standing out with nine effective spikes and two blocks. The attack was supported by Sofía Maldonado Díaz, with 12 units, and Karina Angélica Flores Gámez, who added 10 points to the Mexican cause.
For Costa Rica, the offensive effort was led by María Sofía Arroyo Valle and María del Sol Venegas, who managed to score six points each in an attempt to slow down the pace set by the Mexicans.
