Guaranteed access: Kelvin Cruz responds to Alexander Ogando’s concerns about the Olympic Stadium
The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, took immediate action following the public complaint made by the prominent sprinter Alexander Ogando regarding access restrictions at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium track. The athlete’s concern, focused on the inability to carry out his training, was addressed after direct coordination with the volunteer group in charge of the administration and maintenance of the facility.
With the goal of supporting the development of high-performance athletes, a scheme has been established that allows athletes to continue their preparation routines without interruptions. This provision will be in effect until the remodeling work on the warm-up track is completed, which will soon become the official and exclusive space for the sprinters’ training sessions.
Preservation of sports infrastructure
Minister Cruz emphasized the importance of keeping national facilities in impeccable condition. In this regard, he clarified that, once the renovation work is completed, the main track of the Félix Sánchez will be reserved exclusively for high-level events and competitions.
The priority is to ensure that our athletes have dignified spaces for their preparation, while ensuring that the country’s iconic infrastructure is maintained in optimal condition for major sporting events.
