Korea dominates Dominican Republic in the U-17 Women’s Volleyball World Championship
The Dominican Republic women’s national volleyball team suffered a setback this Monday, falling 3-1 to their South Korean counterparts in a match corresponding to Group D of the U-17 World Championship being held in Chile. With this result, the national team, under the direction of star former member of the Reinas del Caribe, Priscila Rivera, brings its record to 1-3 within the group stage.
The match, marked by intensity on both sides of the net, ended with partials of 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, and 25-17 in favor of the Asians, who showed a solid defensive structure and effective blocking during most of the match.
Highlights on the court
For the Dominican team, Ryni Mondesí was the most outstanding figure, recording a brilliant performance with 23 points. Leandry Almonte also showed a high offensive level by adding 15 points, while Shanty Pérez contributed 10 and Rosaris Peña added seven units.
On the Korean side, Son Seaoyon led the attack with 23 points, supported by Suin and Minseo Eo, who added 14 and 12 points respectively, being key pieces in neutralizing the Dominican comeback attempts.
