The Trendy Fashion Week Elite returns to the Faro a Colón for its sixth edition
The fashion industry in the Dominican Republic is preparing for a high-impact event. The sixth version of the Trendy Fashion Week Elite has been confirmed for September 3rd, 4th, and 5th, with the Faro a Colón as its iconic setting. The event’s producer and director, Robert Flores, reported that the platform will feature the participation of nearly 15 designers and a cast of models selected under strict international standards.
International standards on the runway
One of the most important new features of this edition lies in the selection process for the talents who will walk the runway. According to Flores, physical and professional requirements have been established in line with the demands of major global runways to ensure a superior level of production.
- Height requirements: A minimum of 5’9″ to 5’10″ is requested for female models.
- Male profile: A “super skinny” build standard is sought, in line with current global fashion trends.
The models must meet a strictly international standard. The goal is to present a proposal that combines design, production, and trends, with a staging capable of projecting the country into other markets.

The choice of the Columbus Lighthouse is no coincidence. Flores highlights this monument as an architectural jewel that elevates the visual quality of the event, comparing the experience of walking there to major fashion capitals like Milan.
