Blow to micro-trafficking: National Police arrests man with illicit substances in El Seibo

In a strategic operation deployed in the Santa Lucía municipal district, in the province of El Seibo, agents of the National Police managed to capture a man linked to the trafficking of controlled substances. The action was executed by members of the Provincial Intelligence Division (DINTEL) in conjunction with the Preventive Police corps.

The subject was intercepted while traveling on a motorcycle, which was impounded by the authorities during the procedure. Upon conducting the mandatory search, police officers found a fanny pack containing a shipment of alleged prohibited substances ready for distribution.

Seized evidence

  • 29 portions of a white powder, presumably cocaine.
  • 11 portions of a green vegetable, with characteristics of marijuana.
  • 10 wrappers of a rocky substance, possibly crack.
  • Cash in various denominations.

The authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and the frontal fight against micro-trafficking in the region, ensuring that these types of targeted interventions will continue permanently.

Following the arrest, the individual was transferred to police detachments to proceed with the corresponding legal protocol. Both the detainee and the seized evidence and the retained vehicle were placed under the control of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The case will be processed under the guidelines established in Law 50-88 on Drugs and Controlled Substances, while intelligence departments keep investigations open to determine possible additional links in the area.
