Advances in the murder case of José Frank Valerio in Los Alcarrizos
The National Police confirmed the voluntary surrender of two individuals linked to the homicide of community leader José Frank Valerio, 52, who lost his life on August 14 in Hato Nuevo, Los Alcarrizos. The tragic event occurred when the victim was at a motorcycle taxi stand and was surprised by several attackers.
The spokesperson for the law enforcement institution, Diego Pesqueira, detailed that Tani Hernández Zorrilla recently presented himself at the National Police Palace. He joins José Enrique Corniel Jerez, known as Iker el Rabioso, 19 years old, who also surrendered previously to answer for the charges brought against him.
Detainees and judicial process
In addition to those surrendered, the authorities have executed arrest warrants against three other suspects identified as:
- Saulo Kelly Núñez, alias Pelota, 22 years old.
- Juan Javier Peña del Pozo, 27 years old.
- Eric Manuel Arias Recio, nicknamed Capullo.
Pesqueira emphasized that the investigations are being coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Santo Domingo Oeste. This entity will be in charge of determining the degree of responsibility of each person involved during the request for coercive measures. Regarding the situation of other persons of interest, including local figures, the authorities have urged waiting for the results of the Task Force meetings to provide precise details.
Violent incident in Boca Chica leaves three women injured
In a separate incident recorded on Sunday night, three women were wounded by gunfire during a brawl that occurred at the Francis grocery store, located in the Los Tanquecitos sector, in Boca Chica. The victims were identified as Norma Pérez (41), Calis Pérez (25), and Sonia Páez (23).
The three women are in stable condition and out of danger, while medical staff continue to monitor their progress following the altercation.
According to the preliminary report, the altercation involved the wife of the establishment’s owner. Currently, the National Police are actively searching for the owner, Francis González Guerrero, who remains a fugitive. The identity of the woman involved has not been revealed so as not to hinder the course of the police investigations.
