JCE service day impacts more than 1,700 people in Haina

The Central Electoral Board (JCE) successfully concluded a special civil registry and ID issuance operation in the municipality of Bajos de Haina, benefiting a total of 1,762 citizens. This initiative, carried out between August 4 and 15, reaffirms the institution’s commitment to bringing its basic services closer to the most remote communities and facilitating the documentation of the population.

The operational deployment was hosted at the Agustina Dominga Maldonado Soriano municipal library, popularly known as Doña Clara. There, residents had the opportunity to carry out various procedures, among which the following stood out:

  • Management of late birth registrations.
  • Correction of personal data in certificates.
  • Tracking and resolution of files.
  • Issuance and renewal of the identity and electoral card.

An interinstitutional and inclusive effort

To ensure the success of this day, the JCE integrated specialized personnel from the areas of Civil Registry, ID Issuance, Inspection, and Civil Registry Support. Likewise, the operation had the strategic support of the National Council for the Elderly (CONAPE) and the Supérate program, institutions that collaborated in the logistics and accompaniment of citizens.

The JCE highlighted its focus on inclusion by incorporating sign language interpretation services, ensuring that people with hearing impairments could complete their identity processes without communication barriers.

This activity is part of the second edition of the Civil Registry Week of Latin America and the Caribbean, an initiative promoted by the Latin American and Caribbean Council for Civil Registration, Identity and Vital Statistics (CLARCIEV). Through these actions, the Central Electoral Board continues working on the modernization and decentralization of State services, guaranteeing the fundamental right to identity for all Dominicans.
