Gabriel Pagán evolves merengue with the release of his album “No Era El Plan”
The renowned Dominican artist Gabriel Pagán has taken a firm step in his musical career with the official release of his new record production titled “No Era El Plan”. This release comes after the resounding success of his single “No Somos Nada”, in collaboration with Ilegales, a track that managed to stay for five consecutive weeks at the top of the Monitor Latino Pop Chart.
The album, consisting of nine tracks, is presented as an organic and authentic proposal that seeks to continue driving the evolution of merengue from a contemporary perspective. The release is accompanied by the official music video for the single that gives the album its name, which is now available to the public on all digital platforms.
A meeting point for merengue
More than just a collection of songs, “No Era El Plan” stands as a symbol of unity within the Dominican music industry. The production stands out for integrating various iconic figures of the genre, managing to connect generations and styles under the same essence.

Production details and next steps
The production work was led by Gabriel Pagán together with YM Freak, while the final mix was in charge of Lewis Pickett. This team managed to consolidate a fresh and current sound that respects the identity of Dominican merengue. The complete repertoire includes the following pieces: “No Era El Plan”, “Loop”, “Un Poquito de los Dos”, “Like”, “Sin Presión”, “Dos Puntos”, “Llévame”, “Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta” and “Replay”.
The release marks the beginning of a promotional strategy where the artist will present each song individually throughout the rest of the year, supported by new audiovisual content. Furthermore, the project will reach the student community through the fourth edition of the 2026 University Tour, consolidating Pagán’s commitment to bringing merengue to new audiences in highly relevant venues and festivals.
