The countdown begins for the XIII National Women’s Superior Basketball Tournament
The Dominican Federation of Clubs (Fedoclubes) is finalizing the organizational details for the thirteenth edition of the Women’s Superior National Basketball Tournament, a competition that carries the motto “No Gender Violence” and is scheduled to begin next Thursday, September 24th.
This important competition, which will feature the dispute of the Seaboard “Clean Energy” Cup, will bring together 11 high-level teams from seven provinces of the country, including the National District and the Santo Domingo Province, consolidating itself as a key event for the development of women’s sports in the Dominican Republic.
Distribution of competing groups
The tournament structure has been divided into two competitive groups to maximize the intensity of the matches:
- Group A: Composed of the current champions, Águilas de Guachupita, along with the Laguneras de San Cristóbal, Turistas del Este, Pioneras de Maimón, and the Leñeras de Los Mina.
- Group B: Composed of the Cinco Esquinas of the San Carlos club, Élites de Yamasá, Pueblo Nuevo de Villa Duarte, Cañeras de La Romana, Caribes de Santo Domingo Norte, and the Dinámicas de Los Alcarrizos.
The commitment is to raise the level of women’s basketball and promote a message of respect and equity through sport, counting on the participation of talent from diverse areas of the national territory.

During the meeting held at the San Carlos club facilities, Roberto Ramírez, the top representative of Fedoclubes, led the gathering with the delegates of the participating clubs. In said session, the fundamental logistical aspects to guarantee the success of the tournament were coordinated, with the presence of representative figures such as Luis Rojas, Karina Lorenzo, Edward Sánchez, Carmen Casado, Ernesto Del Rosario, Ramón Guzmán, José Pérez, Domingo De la Rosa, and Taisha Araújo, who will work closely with the Organizing Committee.
