Energy and Mines extends service hours to resolve electricity billing claims
The Ministry of Energy and Mines has taken concrete measures to address the concerns of the citizenry. Given the increase in concerns related to electricity service billing, the entity announced the extension of business hours at the commercial offices of distribution companies for the next 30 days.
Minister Joel Santos Echavarría reported that this initiative begins this Wednesday with a special program. The objective is for users to have trained personnel at the different locations, including the Northern zone, to carry out detailed reviews of their invoices, clarify doubts about specific charges, and manage claims formally.
Transparency and direct user attention
As explained by Santos Echavarría, the Government’s priority is to ensure that every consumer understands how their consumption is calculated and to ensure that, in the event an administrative error is detected, it is corrected promptly.
We are always committed to greater transparency and to ensuring that the population is duly informed.

This strategy seeks to reinforce user trust and facilitate a direct line of communication in response to recent dissatisfaction over the amounts received for basic services.
Special focus on the Northern region
During a working session led by President Luis Abinader in Santiago, Minister Santos Echavarría highlighted that particular attention is being paid to the energy needs of the country’s Northern region.
Management representatives from the Northern zone participated in these meetings, with whom key points were coordinated to strengthen service and customer care.
