PROPEEP promotes sports and social inclusion in Las Terrenas
The General Directorate of Strategic and Special Projects of the Presidency (PROPEEP) has moved its social transformation agenda to the municipality of Las Terrenas, in the province of Samaná. Following a successful initial day in the municipality of Sánchez, the authorities continue this Friday with a series of activities focused on community well-being and the strengthening of local sports infrastructure.
The main event takes place at the municipal sports center facilities, where the delivery of four sports courts has been highlighted. This initiative seeks to provide children and young people with adequate spaces for recreation, the promotion of healthy lifestyles, and healthy social coexistence.
Commitment to community development
The day is led by Robert Darío Polanco Tejada, Director General of PROPEEP, who was accompanied by the provincial governor, Teodora Mullix Geraldino, and the mayor of Las Terrenas, Eduardo Esteban Polanco. During the event, the importance of coordinating efforts between the central government and local authorities to address the priority needs of the most vulnerable sectors was highlighted.

Impact on youth and sports
In addition to the delivery of the sports facilities, the activity featured the participation of community leaders, such as Agustín Tavares, who highlighted the positive impact these works have on the youth of the area. The sports infrastructure is positioned as a fundamental pillar to keep young people away from negative environments and foster their personal growth through sports.
