Dominican Republic to host international youth baseball events in 2026
The Dominican Republic will consolidate itself as the epicenter of youth baseball globally during the last quarter of 2026. The Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM) has confirmed an ambitious agenda that includes the organization of two qualifying tournaments for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) on Dominican soil, in addition to the national team’s participation in the U-15 World Cup in Mexico.
Juan Núñez, president of the entity, detailed this calendar in a recent press conference, highlighting that between September and November the country will experience intense sporting activity that will serve to measure local talent against the main powers of the continent.
These events confirm FEDOM’s institutional commitment to the comprehensive development of Dominican youth baseball and reaffirm the Dominican Republic as a powerhouse and a strategic destination for hosting major international tournaments.

The Dominican calendar will begin internationally with the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup, which will take place in Mérida, Mexico, from September 25 to October 4, 2026. There, the tricolor team will seek to stand out against the 12 qualified nations from around the world.
Subsequently, the action will move to Dominican territory with two key events:
- U-18 World Cup Qualifier (October 22 to 29, 2026): A stage that will bring together the best prospects on the continent, many of them under the strict watch of Major League teams, seeking their ticket to the World Cup in this category.
- U-12 World Cup Qualifier (November 20 to 27, 2026): A tournament that will feature high-caliber national teams such as the United States, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Panama, Colombia, and the Dominican hosts.
