Absolute dominance: Dominican Republic shines in the 2026 Kids Caribbean Series
The Dominican Republic’s representative has begun its participation in the 2026 Kids Caribbean Series in Nayarit with an impeccable performance. The Quisqueyano team remains undefeated at the top of the standings, establishing itself as the team to beat in this international tournament taking place from August 10th to 16th.
With a perfect 2-0 record and a 1.000 winning percentage, the young Dominican talents have demonstrated a superior level of play in their first two outings on the diamond.
A sweeping start on the diamond
The path to the lead began with a solid 5-2 victory against Panama. However, it was in their second match where the team truly captured attention, by deploying an unstoppable offense that resulted in a resounding victory against Mexico Green with a production of 14 runs, setting the record for the highest offense so far in the tournament.
Nolbis Marcos established himself as the star of the day, receiving recognition as the standout player after his brilliant performance against the Mexican squad.
Schedule and path to the final
The Dominican team is now preparing for the remaining challenges of the regular season. The schedule of matchups is as follows:
- Thursday, August 13: Duel against Puerto Rico at the Coloso del Pacífico Don Alejo Peralta stadium, starting at 5:00 in the afternoon.
- Friday, August 14: Closing of the regular phase against Mexico Red, also at 5:00 in the afternoon.
The championship structure provides for the top four teams to qualify for the semifinal phase, scheduled for Saturday, August 15. The bronze medal matches and the grand final will take place on Sunday the 16th, the day on which the new monarch of this third edition of the tournament will be known.
The competition features the participation of six nations: Venezuela, Panama, Puerto Rico, Mexico Red, Mexico Green and, of course, a Dominican Republic that seeks to crown its excellent start with the championship title.
