Dominican Republic shines at IFTM Top Resa 2026 in Paris

The Dominican Republic reaffirmed its leadership in the international tourism sector during the official inauguration of its stand at the IFTM Top Resa 2026 fair, held in Paris, France. The inaugural event featured the distinguished presence of the Dominican Minister of Tourism, David Collado, and the French Minister of Tourism, Serge Papin.

The Dominican space, which has become a strategic meeting point for companies and investors, was inaugurated to the vibrant rhythm of merengue and with a display of national folklore, highlighting the cultural identity that defines the country as a preferred destination in the European market.

Strategic alliance and growth vision

During the meeting, Minister Collado highlighted the relevance of the French market to the Dominican economy, underscoring that the flow of visitors from France is a fundamental pillar for the industry. As a gesture of brotherhood, Collado presented a piece of Larimar, an emblematic semi-precious stone of the Dominican Republic, to Minister Papin.

For our country, French tourism is extremely important. We receive approximately 220 thousand French tourists each year. Even during the pandemic, we made the decision to maintain our presence at this fair, increasing the size of our stand as a clear sign of our commitment to global reactivation.

A benchmark in the global industry

IFTM Top Resa, founded in 1979, is positioned as one of the three most important tourism trade fairs in Europe. The event covers various facets of the sector, including leisure travel, business travel, corporate events (MICE), and the development of new technologies applied to tourism.

  • Constant modernization of tourism infrastructure.
  • Diversification of the offer for diverse traveler profiles.
