José Alfonso Collado Calderón joins the Dominicanos Primero project led by Santiago Matías
In a move that shakes the political landscape in Santiago, the renowned physician and political leader José Alfonso Collado Calderón has announced his definitive and irrevocable resignation from the Fuerza del Pueblo. His departure from said organization has as its main objective to provide absolute support to the nascent political project Dominicanos Primero, led by the communicator and businessman Santiago Matías.
The announcement came during the intense signature collection drive led by Matías in the heart city, where Collado Calderón emphasized that the national political system requires an urgent generational renewal.
A call for political renewal
Collado Calderón, who has an extensive background in both medicine and sports journalism, highlighted that his decision to step away from traditional parties responds to a desire for profound change. After being a member of the Dominican Liberation Party for three decades and subsequently the People’s Force, the professional asserts that it is time to bet on new figures.

The physician emphasized that his integration into Dominicanos Primero seeks to inject new blood into the electoral scene, convinced that the Dominican Republic needs fresh proposals to combat the ills that afflict today’s society, such as:

During the signature collection day in Santiago, Collado Calderón confirmed that he has already signed to formalize his support. Likewise, he announced that, after formally submitting his resignation letter to his former political organization, he will dedicate his efforts to strengthening the structure of Dominicanos Primero throughout the national territory.
This accession joins the growing wave of citizens who have flocked to registration points to support the initiative of Santiago Matías, who continues to advance in meeting the legal requirements demanded for the official recognition of his political movement.
