Three men linked to armed robbery in Santiago captured
The National Police announced the arrest of three individuals involved in an armed robbery that took place on August 3rd in the La Joya sector, located in the province of Santiago. The suspects were captured following the issuance of the corresponding judicial warrants.
The detainees were identified by the authorities as Luis Miguel Morales Morales, known as “Luimi”; Edward Alexander Rondón Agramonte, nicknamed “Roy”; and Elvin Junior Vélez Jiminián, alias “Junior” or “Coquito”.

According to the authorities’ report, the group intercepted a citizen while traveling in two vehicles. During the criminal act, the individuals used firearms to intimidate the victim, even firing shots into the air to achieve their goal. The objective of the robbery was to strip the victim of two 14-karat gold chains he was wearing.
The detainees are in police custody and have been placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office to face the corresponding legal charges for their participation in this criminal act.

It is important to highlight that, according to previous reports, some of those now detained, specifically Luis Miguel Morales Morales and Elvin Junior Vélez Jiminián, had already been linked to other criminal actions in the Cibao region.
In a previous intervention carried out in Guaco, La Vega, the authorities managed to recover two firearms, specifically a Smith & Wesson pistol and a Glock, following a police pursuit related to a robbery committed in Santiago. In said operation, the suspects were captured along with another individual who was also part of the investigations.
