DGCP closes forum on transparency and presents innovations in public procurement
The General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP) concluded this Thursday its second and final day of the Public Procurement Forum, an event designed to strengthen governance, transparency, and integrity in state management. Under this premise, the meeting brought together various system stakeholders, including government purchasing units and suppliers, with the goal of socializing the updates derived from the new Public Procurement Law.
New tools for citizen surveillance
During the course of the day, Carlos Pimentel, head of the DGCP, highlighted the importance of integrating civil society into the monitoring of processes. As a result of this commitment, the approval of the regulations for oversight commissions was announced, a measure aimed at formalizing citizen participation in the auditing of public resources.
In that same vein, the “Si Denuncia” platform was officially presented, a digital mechanism created so that any citizen can report irregularities, deficiencies, or possible acts of corruption. As Pimentel detailed, this tool guarantees the traceability of reports, ensuring that each user receives a timely response regarding the status of their complaint.
The implementation of these new provisions seeks to transform the procurement system, focusing on more efficient predictive monitoring and administrative procedures that guarantee the integrity of each process.
EFICOMPRAS: Agility and modernization
One of the central points of the forum was the presentation on EFICOMPRAS, the first virtual store of the Dominican State. This portal aims to optimize the acquisition of consumer goods under the low-threshold modality, specifically for purchases under 260 thousand pesos.
- Time reduction: The acquisition process goes from a wait of up to eight days to being resolved in a matter of minutes.
- Greater competitiveness: The platform encourages supplier participation and improves transparency through complete digital traceability.
- Operational efficiency: Goods acquired through this system are intended for immediate delivery, ensuring quality and competitive prices for the State.
With these initiatives, the DGCP reaffirms its commitment to digitalization and the use of technology to optimize public resources, ensuring that administrative procedures are increasingly agile, transparent, and accessible to all sectors involved.
