Alleged perpetrator of femicide in San Pedro de Macorís turns himself in

The National Police confirmed that 50-year-old Morbe Louis Bosica turned himself in voluntarily to the authorities after being identified as the main suspect in the death of his ex-partner, 31-year-old Alicia Antonia Pierrete. The tragic event took place in the municipality of San José de los Llanos, San Pedro de Macorís province.

The citizen appeared at the headquarters of the National Police Palace accompanied by his relatives. There, he was received by Colonel Diego Pesqueira, spokesperson for the institution, who assured that throughout the entire process, the detainee’s fundamental rights will be guaranteed, as established by Dominican laws.

Ongoing judicial process

Following his surrender, the accused was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office to continue the corresponding legal proceedings. According to the institution, Bosica will have to face the judicial process in the jurisdiction of San Pedro de Macorís, where criminal responsibilities for the act attributed to him will be determined.

Bosica’s surrender materialized after the National Police made a public call for the suspect to present himself voluntarily to the authorities, thus avoiding a confrontation and allowing justice to take its course in a peaceful and orderly manner.

The law enforcement institution reiterates its commitment to clarifying this case, keeping under investigation the exact circumstances in which the young woman Pierrete lost her life, an event that has shocked the community of San José de los Llanos.
