Arrest warrant issued for plastic surgeon José Desena Montero after sentence suspension is revoked
The Sentence Execution Court of the National District has issued an arrest warrant for plastic surgeon José Desena Montero. This judicial decision comes after confirming the breach of conditions imposed by the court, following the doctor’s one-year prison sentence for the involuntary manslaughter of patient Bianca Melina de los Santos Corcino, who died during an aesthetic procedure in 2020.
Breach of judicial measures
Magistrate Franny M.L. González Castillo, the court’s substitute judge, determined that the defendant did not comply with the guidelines previously established to enjoy the suspension of his sentence. According to court records, the surgeon violated the terms that allowed him to remain at liberty under supervision.
The original conditions, dictated in September 2025, included a series of strict obligations:
- Maintain the address registered with the court and report any change of residence.
- Refrain from consuming alcohol in excess.
- Do not carry or possess firearms or bladed weapons.
- Mandatory participation in three talks coordinated by the Sentence Execution judge.
However, resolution 249-01-2026-SRES-00615 details that Desena Montero changed his address without notifying the competent authorities and failed to attend the rehabilitation sessions required by the court.
Transfer to Najayo Men’s Prison
Due to the failure to comply with these points, Judge González Castillo proceeded to revoke the suspension of the sentence. Consequently, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the National Police have been ordered to execute the immediate arrest of the health professional.
The judicial decision is final: the convicted person must be transferred to the Najayo Men’s Correction and Rehabilitation Center to effectively serve the one-year prison sentence imposed by the court for the involuntary manslaughter case.
The arrest warrant is now in the hands of the corresponding authorities to proceed with the capture and transfer of the surgeon to the aforementioned penitentiary facility, putting an end to the defendant’s probation period.
