Dominican Republic Army begins survey to optimize border posts
The Dominican Republic Army has launched an exhaustive technical survey of the barracks and detachments located along the entire border area. The main objective of this initiative is to identify the priority needs of the facilities to ensure that soldiers have decent and operational conditions while carrying out their duties.
The supervision day, led by the institution’s commander general, began in Manzanillo and concluded in Jimaní. During the tour, the high military command directly evaluated the infrastructure from Dajabón to Pedro Santana, in the Elías Piña province, covering strategic points of surveillance and national defense.
Improvements in infrastructure and operational capacity
The comprehensive diagnosis focuses on critical aspects of the staff’s daily life, such as:
- Constant supply of drinking water.
- Optimization of the electrical energy system.
- Adequacy and maintenance of sanitary areas.
Soldiers are the fundamental resource for the enforcement of laws and security in the border area. These evaluations allow us to obtain an updated view of the terrain to define more solid strategies.
Army General Command
In addition to the physical infrastructure, the military command highlighted that the operational capacity of the Third, Fourth, and Fifth brigades is at optimal levels, having the necessary personnel to react to any eventuality that may arise on the border line.
Strategic coordination at the border
This supervisory deployment is part of a national security strategy that works in conjunction with the Specialized Land Border Security Corps (Cesfront), the General Directorate of Migration, and the C5i of the Ministry of Defense. The intention is that, by improving the conditions of the spaces where personnel operate, the response and surveillance capacity throughout the border region will be directly strengthened.
The tour included key points such as the Don Miguel Entry Post, the General José Cabrera Fortress in Loma de Cabrera, as well as the Bánica, Macasías detachments, and the La Estrelleta Fortress, reaffirming the Army’s commitment to sovereignty and the well-being of its troops.
