Blow to micro-trafficking: 36 arrested and more than 15 thousand grams of drugs seized in Santo Domingo Este
In a decisive operation against crime, the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD), together with the Public Ministry and the support of the National Police, managed to capture 36 people involved in micro-trafficking in East Santo Domingo. During the operation, 15,732 grams of various narcotic substances were seized, weakening illegal distribution structures in the area.
Intervention details
The tactical deployment covered 62 control operations and three simultaneous raids, executed at strategic points in the municipality. The sectors intervened included Ensanche Ozama, Alma Rosa, Los Mina, Villa Faro, Los Tres Brazos, Mendoza, Lucerna, Villa Liberación, and San Isidro.
The inventory of the seized items reflects the magnitude of the operation:
- 14,906 grams of a white powder, presumably cocaine, distributed in 769 portions.
- More than 826 grams of suspected marijuana, found in 252 wrappers, one package, and one cigarette.
- RD$21,875 in cash and one US dollar.
- 18 cell phones, two communication radios, and six scales used for weighing narcotics.
- Two mini blenders used for dosing the substances, in addition to two motorcycles and other evidence.
The actions of the Joint Task Force continue to be focused on dismantling drug sales points and ensuring the safety of citizens throughout the national territory.
Next legal steps
Among those apprehended are José Alexander Rodríguez, Juan Carlos Rey, Eugenio Adames Padilla, Raymi Caraballo Matos, José Ricardo Díaz Martínez, Luis Antonio Martínez Berroa, and Jioses Bienvenido Burdier Ovalle. In parallel, the authorities are actively searching for two individuals known by the aliases Peje and José Luis, who are being linked to the distribution network in the area.
Both the detainees and the confiscated items are now at the disposal of the Public Ministry, an entity that will proceed with the corresponding legal procedures to ensure that the full weight of the law falls upon those responsible for these illicit activities.
